The 2025/26 season was an exciting and varied one for Alexander Warenberg, with major concerto appearances and chamber music collaborations across Europe.

A particular highlight was a tour of Brahms’ Double Concerto with incredible violinists Michael Shaham and Leonhard Baumgartner, bringing this monumental work to audiences in Germany.

In Brussels, Alexander performed Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto at Flagey with Les Métamorphoses and conductor Raphaël Feye, showcasing his powerful interpretation of one of the great works of the 20th-century cello repertoire.

He also toured with Ciconia Consort and conductor Dick van Gasteren in Schumann’s Cello Concerto, including a performance at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. His playing was praised for its “lyrical depth and technical suppleness.”

In May, Alexander joined the 2026 ARD Prizewinners’ Festival Tour, performing alongside fellow prizewinners in a series of concerts throughout southern Germany, including appearances in Landshut, Iffeldorf, Tegernsee, Munich, Schwetzingen and the Schwarzwald Music Festival. The tour featured chamber music by Beethoven, Zemlinsky, Bosmans, Clarke, Smyth and others.
